3. Impact assessment
WP3 will improve, extend and integrate modern methods for flood impact assessment. The objective will be to develop a comprehensive and flexible framework that will amalgamate different methodologies for evaluation of all types of damage. Assessment of health problems will be taken to a higher level by a combination of hydraulic modelling of floods and quantitative microbial risk assessment. Interrelationships between risk perception, level of preparedness and actual responses will be studied, distinguishing between impacts on individual and on communities.
WP3 will enable comprehensive and realistic assessment of vulnerability to urban flooding at different spatial and temporal scales, aiming at quantification of the efficiency of adaptive management strategies related to changes in drivers in alternative scenarios context and of the cost-effectiveness of resilient measures. Thus, WP3 will include a wide range of possible impacts and interactions of different drivers.
